How Does MAH CET College Admission Work? Understanding DTE CAP Rounds

DTE Maharashtra (Directorate of Technical Education) manages the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for all MAH CET-based admissions — BBA, BCA, BMS, BHMCT, MCA, and Engineering. Here's what you need to know:

What is CAP Round?

CAP (Centralised Admission Process) is the DTE-managed online counselling where students fill option forms, and seats are allotted based on merit and preferences.

How many rounds are there?

Four CAP rounds — I, II, III, and IV (introduced from 2025). After CAP Round IV, remaining seats are filled through Institute-Level Admission (ILA) directly by colleges.

Home University vs State Level

Home University seats are reserved for students from the same affiliating university. State Level seats are open to all Maharashtra students. Our predictor handles this automatically.

What is TFWS?

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme — 5% reserved seats with full fee waiver for students with family income below ₹8 lakh per year. Available in all three CAP rounds.

Which round should you apply for?

Use CAP Round I data for planning your target colleges. Round II/III/IV cutoffs are typically lower — good for Ambitious choices. Our "All Rounds" view shows cutoffs across all four rounds.

Admission timeline (2026)
