Choosing the right BMS college in Mumbai can shape your entire management career. With over 40 BMS colleges across the city available through MAH CET, the decision can feel overwhelming — especially when State-quota cutoffs cross 99 and seats fill up within days of CAP allotment.
This guide cuts through the noise. Every college and cutoff below comes directly from our MAH CET college predictor database, sourced from CAP Round 4 (2025) data. No guesswork, no outdated percentages.
Note: This ranking covers colleges accessible through the MAH CET CAP process. Colleges that admit primarily through direct merit lists (like St. Xavier's via XET, HR College, KJ Somaiya) are not included in our predictor and have been excluded from this ranking — we only show data we can verify.
How We Ranked These Colleges
Rankings are based on the MAH CET 2025 CAP Round 4 closing score for the General (OPEN) category, State quota — the most competitive benchmark for Maharashtra students. Higher closing score = more student demand = stronger brand and placement pull.

Location: Vile Parle West, Mumbai Suburban Status: Autonomous | SVKM Group MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 99.76 | AI (CUET): 146.65
NM College is the most sought-after BMS college in Mumbai through the MAH CET route. A State closing of 99.76 out of 200 — achieved in the final allotment round after multiple seat transfers — tells you how fierce the competition is. Part of the SVKM group (same trust as Mithibai), NM has decades of strong alumni in banking, finance, and consulting.
AI seats: Filled via CUET — so All India students need to appear for CUET, not MAH CET.
Fees: ~₹55,000/year (₹1,65,000 for 3 years)
Who should target it: Students scoring 95+ in MAH CET 2026 with a strong State-category profile. For AI seats, CUET applicants.
2. Jai Hind College (Autonomous)
Location: Churchgate, South Mumbai (Mumbai City) Status: Autonomous since 2018–19 MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 99.47 | AI (CUET): 127.69
Jai Hind sits in the heart of Mumbai's business district — Churchgate — and carries a 75-year legacy. Its autonomous status gives it flexibility to run a curriculum that goes beyond the standard MU syllabus. The college also offers BBA (State closing 99.00, AI 122.17 CUET) — so if you're on the BBA vs BMS fence, Jai Hind is the only place where you can compare both at the same institution.
Fees: ~₹56,515 total (3 years)
Who should target it: Students scoring 95+ in MAH CET. Also worth applying via CUET for AI seats.
3. SVKM's UPG College — Usha Pravin Gandhi College
Location: Vile Parle West, Mumbai Suburban Status: Autonomous | SVKM Group MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 98.73 | AI (CUET): 119.21
The quieter sibling of NM College and Mithibai in the SVKM family, UPG College offers BMS alongside value-added courses in Digital Marketing, Filmmaking, and Media Studies. Its Vile Parle location keeps students within the same college ecosystem as NM and Mithibai — useful for networking and joint events.
Fees: ~₹50,780 total (3 years) — one of the most affordable autonomous BMS options.
Who should target it: Students scoring 90+ in MAH CET who want an autonomous SVKM college with lower fees.
4. Mithibai College (Autonomous)
Location: Vile Parle West, Mumbai Suburban Status: Autonomous | SVKM Group MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 98.63 | AI (CUET): 133.35
Mithibai is Mumbai's most vibrant campus — 35,000+ students, 217 teaching staff, and cultural events that rival professional productions. Its second-highest AI CUET closing (133.35) after NM reflects strong national demand. Important: 50% of seats are reserved for Gujarati Linguistic Minority — factor this in when planning your application category, as it significantly affects available General seats.
Fees: ~₹52,935 total (3 years — ~₹17,645/year)
Who should target it: Students scoring 90+ in MAH CET, especially those from Gujarati background who can apply under minority quota.
5. RA Podar College of Commerce & Economics (Autonomous)
Location: Matunga (CR), Mumbai City Status: Autonomous | Established 1941 MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 98.63 | AI (CUET): 33.66
RA Podar's State closing (98.63) matches Mithibai's — a testament to its 80+ year heritage and strong Matunga location. What stands out: its AI CUET closing is just 33.66, which is unusually low compared to its State demand. This likely reflects limited AI seat availability rather than lower quality. Stream-wise BMS intake: Commerce 45%, Arts 25%, Science 25%, Diploma 5%.
Fees: ~₹66,115/year (total for 3 years to be confirmed)
Who should target it: Maharashtra students scoring 90+ who want a heritage autonomous college in Central Mumbai.
6. Wilson College (Autonomous)
Location: Chowpatty, South Mumbai (Mumbai City) Status: Autonomous MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 91.05 | AI (CUET): 67.78
One of Mumbai's oldest institutions (founded 1881), Wilson College's Chowpatty address places it right next to Marine Drive — arguably Mumbai's best college location. Its BMS program is relatively newer but has grown steadily in placements. The State closing of 91.05 makes it the first college in this list with some breathing room below the 99-bracket.
Who should target it: Students scoring 85–92 in MAH CET seeking an autonomous South Mumbai college with manageable cutoffs.
7. KPB Hinduja College
Location: Charni Road, Mumbai City Status: Autonomous | NAAC A+ MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 89.97 | AI (CUET): 71.83
KPB Hinduja College holds a NAAC A+ grade — the only college in this top 10 with that distinction among those in our dataset. Its Charni Road location keeps it in the South Mumbai corridor. The college is known for strong faculty and discipline, with particularly good results in finance and marketing placements.
Who should target it: Students scoring 80–92 in MAH CET who want a NAAC A+ autonomous South Mumbai college at a realistic cutoff.
8. Vaze College (Autonomous) — Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College
Location: Mulund West, Mumbai Suburban Status: Autonomous MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 87.05 | AI (CUET): 77.18
The highest-ranked BMS college outside South Mumbai / Vile Parle corridor, Vaze College at Mulund has built a strong BMS reputation over the past decade. Its autonomous status means a curriculum that goes beyond the standard MU syllabus. For students from the eastern suburbs, Vaze is often the top target.
Who should target it: Students scoring 78–90 in MAH CET, especially from Thane, Mulund, or Ghatkopar belt.
9. Nagindas Khandwala College
Location: Malad West, Mumbai Suburban Status: Autonomous MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 82.21 | AI (MAH CET): 82.21
Nagindas Khandwala is the highest-ranked western suburbs college on this list. Unlike the CUET-based AI seats at South Mumbai colleges, NKC's AI seats are filled via MAH CET — making it accessible to all-India students without needing a separate CUET score. Both State and AI closed at the same score (82.21), which means this is genuinely competitive across both quotas.
Who should target it: Students scoring 72–85 in MAH CET from the western suburbs (Malad, Borivali, Kandivali, Goregaon belt).
10. DG Ruparel College — D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science & Commerce
Location: Mahim, Mumbai City Status: Non-Autonomous (MU-affiliated) MAH CET 2025 Closing — State: 81.84 | AI (MAH CET): 88.22
DG Ruparel's AI cutoff (88.22) is actually higher than its State closing (81.84) — a rare pattern that reflects strong demand from All India students for a Mahim address. It is one of the few non-autonomous colleges in this top 10, meaning students follow the standard MU syllabus. Located between Bandra and Dadar, its central Mumbai position gives good internship and corporate access.
Who should target it: Students scoring 72–88 who want a central Mumbai college at a more accessible State cutoff.

What About Xavier's, HR College, and KJ Somaiya?
These are excellent institutions, but they admit students through routes outside the MAH CET CAP process:
- St. Xavier's College — uses the Xavier Entrance Test (XET), not MAH CET. Admissions are based on XET score + board marks.
- HR College of Commerce & Economics — direct merit-based admission through the Mumbai University portal; does not participate in MAH CET CAP allotment.
- KJ Somaiya College — merit-based through MU portal; also not part of MAH CET CAP.
- KC College (Kishinchand Chellaram) — similar merit-based route.
Because these colleges are not in our MAH CET predictor, we cannot show you your chances there. If you're targeting them, your board marks and XET score (for Xavier's) are what matter.
