Exam-day checklist · परीक्षा के दिन के निर्देश

⏰ Shift timings

Shift 1: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM · Shift 2: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Reach the centre at least 2 hours before the exam. The gate closes 30 minutes before the exam — no entry after that.

✅ Carry these

  • ✓Printed admit card
  • ✓Original Aadhaar card (mandatory for identity verification)
  • ✓One photocopy of Aadhaar / identity proof
  • ✓Two recent passport-size photos — write your name, roll number and exam date on the back
  • ✓Black or blue ball point pen

❌ Do not carry

  • ✗Mobile phone, Bluetooth devices
  • ✗Smart watch or wrist watch
  • ✗Calculator
  • ✗Earphones, smart glasses, iPad or any electronic gadget
  • ✗Pen drive, hard disk, data card
  • ✗Any metallic object
  • ✗Papers, notes, charts, maps or study material

📝 In the exam hall

  • Fill your roll number, registration number, question booklet number and centre code carefully — a wrong or missing booklet number can stop your OMR sheet from being evaluated.
  • Write your full name in Hindi wherever asked.
  • Do not use whitener, blade or eraser on the OMR sheet.
  • Follow the instructions printed on the question booklet and OMR sheet.
  • Biometric verification (photo and iris scan) and CCTV monitoring are done at the centre.

🎯 Strategy

  • Negative marking is ¼ mark per wrong answer. With 5 options a blind guess gains nothing on average — but if you can rule out even one option, attempting is worth it.
  • The two Hindi passages, 2 graphs and 2 tables are 30 marks of questions that follow the same format every year — they are the most reliable marks in the paper.
  • A rough time plan: about 60 minutes for GK, current affairs, Hindi and English; 45 minutes for graphs, tables and arithmetic; 15 minutes to recheck.
  • Fill in your answers as you go, not all at the end.

Always follow the instructions printed on your admit card if they differ from this list.

Frequently asked questions

What should I revise one day before UPSSSC PET?

Revise one-line facts rather than new topics: history and national movement dates, constitution articles, science basics, arithmetic shortcuts, Hindi sandhi, vilom and muhavare, English grammar rules and the last few months of current affairs. Then solve one previous-year paper under time.

Is there negative marking in UPSSSC PET 2026?

Yes. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and ¼ mark is deducted for every wrong answer. There are 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours.

Which sections of UPSSSC PET score the easiest marks?

The two Hindi unseen passages (10 marks) and the graph and table interpretation questions (20 marks) follow the same format every year, so with practice they are the most reliable 30 marks in the paper.

When is the UPSSSC PET 2026 exam?

UPSSSC PET 2026 is held on 25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026, in two shifts each day.
