e-Scrutiny vs Physical Scrutiny — Which Should You Choose?

This year the CET Cell offers two document verification modes. You must select one when filling the online form — you cannot switch later.

E-Scrutiny (Online Verification)

  • Upload scanned copies of your original documents from any device, from anywhere in Maharashtra
  • No travel to a Facilitation Centre
  • If documents are error-free: confirmation and receipt-cum-acknowledgement appear directly in your login
  • If an error is found: your application is reverted back with details — you correct and resubmit

Best for: Candidates whose documents are complete and clean — no missing details, no pending certificates.

Physical Scrutiny (In-Person at Facilitation Centre)

  • Visit your selected Facilitation Centre (FC) in person during your allotted time slot with original documents
  • FC staff verify your documents and issue the receipt-cum-acknowledgement on the spot
  • Verification centres are open all 7 days including Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Best for: Candidates who want in-person guidance, have doubts about their documents, or have pending certificates (e.g., Caste Validity receipt) they want to present physically.

Not sure which mode to choose, or worried your documents aren't complete? Book a one-to-one counselling session — we'll check everything before you submit.

Critical Points — Don't Miss These

Application confirmation is mandatory. An unconfirmed application = rejection. You will not appear in the merit list for any admission round.

Category certificates must be valid:

  • SC, VJ/DT-NT(A)/(B)/(C)/(D), OBC, SBC, SEBC candidates → Caste Validity Certificate required
  • ST candidates → Tribe Validity Certificate required
  • All Backward Class candidates (except SC/ST) → Non-Creamy Layer Certificate valid up to 31 March 2027
  • Without originals or valid receipts at verification → treated as GENERAL category for CAP
  • Reserved category candidates without certificates at verification must also pay a fee difference of ₹200/- online

EWS candidates must produce the Eligibility Certificate in the prescribed format (Proforma-V of the Information Brochure).

J&K / Ladakh Migrant candidates: Applications after the deadline are summarily rejected — no exceptions, no correspondence. After confirmation, approach SIMSREE, B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020 directly for admissions under this quota.

Certificate submission deadline: If you submitted only a receipt (not the original) for Caste/Tribe Validity, Non-Creamy Layer, or EWS Certificate during registration, you must get the original verified and submit it to your admitted institute before the final reporting date of the 4th CAP round. Missing this deadline cancels admission — you move to the Open category for later institute-level rounds (if eligible).

Institutional Quota seats (vacant after all CAP rounds) also require mandatory registration and document verification through the same Scrutiny process.

NRI/OCI/PIO/CIWGC/Foreign National candidates must apply through fn.mahacet.org. OCI candidates are governed by SC order WP(C) No. 891/2021.

Graduation in CGPA / Grade Points? You'll need a Conversion Certificate to convert your CGPA to percentage before uploading during registration. Download the format below, fill it in, and get it signed by yourself (self-declaration):
