Jumbled Sentence/Paragraph Questions with Solutions

9 questions8 easy1 medium

Jumbled sentence questions break a sentence into parts, and jumbled paragraph (para jumble) questions break a paragraph into sentences. In both cases, you need to rearrange the parts into a logical order. Some questions also fix the first and last sentences and ask you to order the middle ones. Look for the opening sentence first. It usually introduces the topic and doesn't start with a pronoun or a linking word. Next, find pairs that must go together. Pronouns such as "he", "it" and "this" point back to something already mentioned, and words such as "however", "therefore" and "also" link to the sentence before. Once you have one or two fixed pairs, check which options contain them. This eliminates most wrong answers without working out the full order. Practise the jumbled sentence and paragraph questions below. Each solution explains the links that decide the order.
