Sentence Improvement Questions with Solutions
Sentence improvement questions underline part of a sentence and ask you to choose the option that makes it grammatically correct or clearer. One option is usually "no improvement", which you should choose only if the original is already correct. The errors tested most often are subject-verb agreement, wrong tense, incorrect prepositions, misused comparatives and superlatives, wrong pronouns, unnecessary words, and incorrect idioms or phrasal verbs. Read the full sentence to understand the intended meaning, identify the error type, and then compare the options. Replacing the underlined part with each option and reading the sentence aloud in your head often reveals the correct choice. Practise the sentence improvement questions below. Each solution names the error and explains the correct answer.
