Answer: Option C — Ishwardas Nagar
Detailed Solution
"Futuhat-i-Alamgiri" ("Victories of Alamgir") is a Persian historical work written by Ishwardas Nagar, a Nagar Brahmin from Patan in Gujarat, in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
About Futuhat-i-Alamgiri:
- It describes the history of the reign of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (Alamgir), covering events from about 1657 to around 1698.
- It covers the war of succession among Shah Jahan's sons, the Rajput rebellion after the death of Maharaja Jaswant Singh of Marwar (1678-79), Aurangzeb's campaigns in the Deccan and other events.
- Ishwardas worked for the Qazi-ul-Quzat (chief judge) of the Mughal Empire and later served in the Mughal administration in Jodhpur under Shujaat Khan, the Mughal governor of Gujarat.
He played a role in negotiations with Durgadas Rathore, the Rathore leader who fought to protect Ajit Singh, the infant heir of Jaswant Singh. He helped return Prince Akbar's children (Aurangzeb's grandchildren), who were in Durgadas's care, to the emperor.
His work is valued because it is written by a Hindu officer and gives information on events in Rajputana and Gujarat.

"Muntakhab-ul-Lubab": by Khafi Khan; Aurangzeb had banned official histories, so Khafi Khan wrote it secretly.

"Khulasat-ut-Tawarikh": by Sujan Rai Bhandari (1695).
Other Mughal histories:
- "Baburnama": Babur (in Turki).
- "Akbarnama": Abul Fazl.
- "Padshahnama": Abdul Hamid Lahori (Shah Jahan's reign).
