Figure Analogy Questions with Solutions
Figure analogy is an abstract (non-verbal) reasoning question type. You are shown a pair of figures that are related in a particular way, and a third figure. You must find the figure that relates to the third in the same way that the second relates to the first. In other words, A : B :: C : ?. Work out exactly what changes from the first figure to the second, and apply the same change to the third. Common changes include rotation, reflection, inversion, a change in the number of sides or elements, swapping inner and outer shapes, changes in shading, and adding or removing a line. List every change you notice, because the answer must apply all of them. Then rule out options that apply only some of the changes or apply them in the wrong direction. Practise the figure analogy questions below. Each solution describes the transformation in plain words.
