Answer View answer ▾

Answer: Option D — Nepal

Detailed Solution

Surya Kiran is an annual joint military exercise between the Indian Army and the Nepal Army. It is held alternately in India and Nepal. It began in 2011. The 18th edition was held in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, from 31 December 2024 to 13 January 2025.

The aim of the exercise is to improve interoperability between the two armies in jungle warfare, counter-terrorism operations in mountainous terrain, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), and peacekeeping operations under the United Nations. India and Nepal share a special relationship: the Gorkha regiments of the Indian Army recruit soldiers from Nepal, and the Army chiefs of the two countries are traditionally given the honorary rank of General in each other's army.
