Answer: Option D — 1792
Detailed Solution
The Calcutta Cricket Club, established in 1792, is the oldest cricket club in India. It is often described as the second-oldest cricket club in the world, after the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) of London (1787), although some clubs in England are older. It was set up by the British residents of Calcutta, which was then the capital of British India.
The club is now known as the Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CCFC). It merged with the Calcutta Football Club (founded in 1872), one of the oldest football clubs in Asia, in 1965. It is located in Ballygunge, Kolkata.

The Parsis toured England in 1886 and 1888.
The Bombay Presidency matches between the Parsis and Europeans began in 1892; they later became the "Quadrangular" and "Pentangular" tournaments, with Hindu, Muslim and other teams.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was formed in 1928.
India played its first Test match against England at Lord's, London, in June 1932, under the captaincy of C. K. Nayudu.
The Ranji Trophy, India's premier first-class tournament, began in 1934-35.
India's first Test win came in 1952 against England at Chennai (Madras).
Eden Gardens in Kolkata, built in 1864, is the oldest international cricket stadium in India and one of the largest in the world.
